We continue to offer cargo flights and cargo transport options

To our valued cargo customers:

Today, we are happy to share the good news that our financial restructuring process is now complete. Philippine Airlines has officially emerged from the Chapter 11 process with a streamlined fleet, lower debt and fresh capital that positions us well for the challenges of the future.

Our fleet of 70 aircraft will continue to be deployed on a global network of routes linking the Philippines to North America, the Middle East, Australia and much of Asia. We expect to restore more routes and increase flight frequencies as travel restrictions ease and borders reopen.

Over the last two years, PAL has evolved into a cargo airline. The development of cargo markets has become part of our business goals and strategic outlook. We are always looking for additional cargo opportunities to better serve you.

In this regard, Philippine Airlines is here to serve as your trusted air cargo partner, now and long into the future. Thank you for your trust and support.

FAQ

How does the completion of the restructuring impact my current shipments? Do you have the capacity to continue providing cargo services?

Our passenger and cargo flights continue to operate, subject to demand and governmental travel restrictions. As we progressively restore more flights and routes, our capacity to carry more cargo shipments will continue to increase.

Will PAL consider pursuing and growing its cargo business through a dedicated cargo fleet?

We will continue to assess our route network and look out for more cargo opportunities. PAL has evolved into a cargo airline where the development of cargo markets is now part of our business goals and strategic outlook. If business opportunities warrant, we are open to considering a dedicated cargo fleet in the future. Today, we are able to pursue market opportunities by deploying our existing passenger aircraft on all-cargo transport runs, in some cases by loading light cargo in the main passenger cabin.

Will there be adjustments to PAL’s future cargo schedule? Will you reduce the destinations or services you offer?

We will continue to offer cargo transport options on all passenger flights as well as in our dedicated cargo flights. We continue to assess our route network as we progressively build up flight frequencies in line with the recovery of demand. Where appropriate, we will continue to offer ad hoc flights on selected routes, including those not in our standard network, to cater to special cargo transport needs.
