We continue to offer cargo flights and cargo transport options
To our valued cargo customers:
Philippine Airlines is here to serve you now and long into the future.
Our restructuring process will strengthen Philippine Airlines financially and enable us to reinvest in our operations to serve you better. U.S. Chapter 11 financial restructuring is a well-established legal process that enables businesses to execute their financial recovery plans while continuing to operate and serve the public.
Our highest priority is the safety and health of our customers, employees, and communities. And nothing about that will change as part of our financial restructuring.
We will continue to deliver uninterrupted service during the restructuring period and beyond. Our flights continue to operate according to current schedules, and all booked transport will be honored.
We offer cargo transport options on all cargo and passenger flights. In fact, under current plans, PAL will venture into cargo services more decisively than before, a strategic move that we launched in the second quarter of 2020.
We are glad to be serving new air freight markets through the operation of more all-cargo flights in the Philippines and between various countries in Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
As Asia’s first airline, flying the Philippine flag for 80 years now, we renew our commitment to care for our customers and support economic recovery. That mission of service will ensure that Philippine Airlines thrives well into the future.
All passenger and cargo flights are expected to continue to operate, subject to demand and governmental travel restrictions.
All passenger and cargo flights are expected to continue to operate, subject to demand and governmental travel restrictions. We will provide timely updates if there are any changes on the flight schedule. As we progressively restore more flights and routes, our capacity to carry more cargo shipments will continue to increase.
Will there be adjustments to PAL’s future cargo schedule? Will you reduce the destinations or services you offer?
No, we expect to continue to offer cargo transport options on all cargo and passenger flights. There will be no intended impact to your current shipments or our partnership as a result of this restructuring process. With regard to schedules, we continue to assess our route network in light of COVID-19 and may continue to make some adjustments to flights and destinations as a result. We will continue to build-up flight frequencies progressively, as demand recovers. Additionally, we will continue to offer ad hoc flights on selected routes, including those not in our standard network, to cater to special cargo transport needs.
We expect to continue to offer cargo transport options on all cargo and passenger flights. There will be no intended impact to your current shipments or our partnership as a result of the restructuring process. While we intend to reduce the total number of aircraft in our entire fleet, we continue to explore the utilization of more of our existing passenger aircraft for all-cargo flights (a practice we started in April 2020).
There will be no expected impact to the cargo rates we offer now and in the future. Our rates have always been flexible and may change due to other factors. There will be no intended change to existing contracted arrangements.
